Red-tailed Hawk (Gerrit Heersink)

Red-tailed Hawk (Gerrit Heersink)

A resident of Benmor Towers has seen a family of hawks around Jackson Park.  The nest is in one of the white pines near the  climbing frame and can bee seen from the ground .
(Note: The bird is a Red-tailed Hawk. A pair has been nesting in the park for several years. The birds are often seen soaring in the area, which often catches the attention of crows that attempt to mob them. D.M.)
