Snowy Owl (Jeff Keller)

Snowy Owl (Jeff Keller)

On December 11 or 12, 2013, I saw a Snowy Owl  on the 4th Line of South Monaghan  just east of Smithson Road in the Squirrel Creek area. I came over a hill and the bird was sitting right in the middle of the road.  As I got closer,  it flew south across the fields and perched on a fence line  one field back.  It was pretty much all white, with very few dark marks on it.  I’ve only seen one once before in Conroy’s Marsh in Bancroft about 20 years ago when I was a kid. A very majestic bird to see!
