Bald Eagle on nest on Stony Lake - Jeff Jones

Bald Eagle on nest on Stony Lake – Jeff Jones

On Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:30 AM, in flow at the north end of Little Jack’s Lake (between Jack’s Lake and Stoney Lake), my brother and sister-in-law saw a Bald Eagle perched above the open water. I have seen Bald Eagles at the spot numerous times during the winter months in previous years.

On Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 5:00 PM, on the nesting platform adjacent to Hwy 28 bridge at Young’s Point, I saw one adult Osprey. On April 22, a pair of Osprey were at the nest.

On Sunday, April 20th, I saw that a pair of Osprey is on the nest Snake Island, Brooks Bay at Jack Lake.  Last year was the first time they had nested at this location.  The lake itself is still frozen.
