Must be fall. On the day that fall comes, a “woolly bear” (Spotted Tussock Moth caterpillar)  was on our patio step. He/she seemed a bit sluggish and somewhat disoriented for some reason…kept wandering back and
forth for quite sometime. Did not see it later in the afternoon. Yesterday (Sept. 21), we had a swarm of mating flying ants, too.  More of the fall……….ugggh.

Note: Ants were also swarming on Munroe Island on Stony Lake on Sept. 21. This may have been precipitated by the heavy rain we had in the morning. Ants will often swarm over large areas on the same day – i.e., hundreds of square kilometres.
