This Bald Eagle has been at our waterfront on Cameron Street, Peterborough.  It had flown  over the river and swooped  down and brought out a huge fish that it dropped on the ice and then fed on. Judy Gozzard

Here is a video of Trumpeter Swans taken on the river in Lakefield across from the funeral home on March 1. The juveniles are still around if anyone wants to come and see them.The pic of the Mute Swans is mine and was taken about a week ago along the Lakefield Marsh Trail, just as it bends around into Katchewanoka.  Lynda Gadd

Two new spring birds in the yard today were a Song Sparrow and a Golden-crowned Kinglet. Also, a Merlin has been flying around the neighbourhood calling quite loudly for the last few days. There were two Bald Eagles on Fife Bay,  Lake Chemong, on the evening of March 31. By the time I got my camera, one had landed on the ice, while the other had flown up lake toward Bridgenorth. The one that landed did not appear to have any prey and was only there for a few minutes before joining the other one.  Nancy Cafik
