Tree Swallow - Karl Egressy

Tree Swallow – Karl Egressy

I visited Little Lake this afternoon, April 2, and was greeted by a nice diversity of birdlife, especially along the east side of the cemetery. Viewing is great in mid- to late afternoon when the sun is in the western sky and illuminates the waterfowl from the side.  Highlights included 1 Osprey, 5 Tree Swallows, 2 Pied-billed Grebes, 70 Ring-necked Ducks, 24 Common Mergansers, 45 Hooded Mergansers, 12 Common Goldeneye, 30 Bufflehead, 3 Redhead, 80 Canada Geese, 40 Mallards and 1 scaup (Greater?)
