Great Egrets south of zoo (Michele Hemery)

This morning at about 10 a.m., I observed a pair of Great Egrets briefly on the Otonabee River in Peterborough, just south of the zoo.  They flew in and stayed in the area for only about 10 minutes or so, but were very active during that time.  They waded in the water for a bit, then flew around each other a few times and perched in a tree for a short time. They were on the far side of the river from me, but I managed to take a somewhat blurry photo…  What beautiful birds!
