I was in Lakefield on Tuesday and returned along River Road. Due to flooding there was a disturbingly large quantity of floating vegatation in the river. A Lakefield woman showed me a video she had shot on the weekend that show a “raft” that was around 35 feet wide by 60 feet. I was shocked at how large it was. These floaters consisted of rushes, small shrubs and even small trees. There continued to be large quanties on Monday but most were 2 to 6 feet across. I was wondering in anyone has heard about destruction of shoreline marshes on Lake Katchewanooka? I watched the ice go out last Monday.
