American Kestrel

American Kestrel

While driving north on Tara Road in Ennismore I noticed an American Kestrel flying across the road. It flew to and entered a bird house attached high on a phone pole. I was amazed he could fit through the hole – it`s not a large house and there are no homes adjacent to this pole. Who would put up a bird house on a phone pole by a highway. Has the county/township erected these for the birds?

P.S.  Directions to the bird box – Head north at Sullivan`s Corners.  Pass Viner Line (joins Tara from left side) – go over steep hill and the pole is just over that hill, just a couple of poles down on left.
