We saw a single adult Peregrine on the “usual” nest in North Kawartha township last Sunday. It flew off and out of sight immediately. Guess it’s not used to traffic yet. Sorry we couldn’t identify the sex – perhaps male would be more likely? John & Marie Fautley
I observed and photographed a male Long-tailed Duck and male Lesser Scaup on the Otonabee River this morning near the cemetery at Little Lake. They were just swimming along and fishing together. Beautiful birds, especially the Long-tailed Duck. D.J. McPhail

Just out checking my sap buckets and saw our two resident Ospreys. The one was right over top of me and the other 50 metres to the east. They must be shocked to see the snow. Lots of ducks. A few geese flying around looking for a place to nest. Read more…
