Cecropias mating (Ruthanne Sobiera)

Cecropias mating (Ruthanne Sobiera)

I came across these two moths in my dogwood bush tonight (in Peterborough suburbs).  Some Internet searches  helped me identify them  as Cecropia moths. They are quite large and were motionless for a long time…I’m no expert but I believe they were mating. Closer inspection of my dogwood bush shows there is another unopened Cecropia cocoon in its branches.
