I saw the Ross’s Goose today between Locks 23 and 24 on the Otonabee River, south of Lakefield. It was sleeping on the ice adjacent to the west bank, near the green buoy in the middle of the river. About a dozen Canada Geese were keeping it company. I managed to get a picture but, given the distance, it’s terribly clear.      Drew Monkman
